奥巴马说英式英语

英国首相卡梅伦正访问美国。奥巴马总统今天在欢迎会上,说了几句英式英语 (British expressions),逗英国人,媒体乐了。

奥巴马说英式英语:喜出望外

奥巴马上了标题的这句话,就是: chuffed to bits。英国人说很高兴,乐死了,喜出望外,口语上,常说:I am so chuffed! 或说,I am chuffed to bits!

奥巴马的第二句英式英语,是 top-notch --最佳的。 奥巴马说,珍惜我们两国的关系,我深信我们能维系最佳的友好关系。

Hugh Laurie 是美国最红的英国演员,也是在美国收入最高的英国演员,他在英国,却是因喜剧 (comedy) 而著名的。Hugh Laurie 有一则出名的录像,他在美国受访问,他说英式英语,主持人说美式英语,笑话百出。(在 2 分45秒,Hugh Laurie 说了 ‘chuffed to bits’。)

  1. 英国英语和美国英语真的是有不少差别的。就好象福建话和宁波话。

    看奥巴马吭吭哧哧说英国俗语,还挺好笑的。

    那天有小辈挑战我,说我有美国口音。(小)生可忍,熟(女)不可忍,愤而反击:我有北爱口音,好不好?!
