Get ready to be a slave in China’s world order — 中国主宰世界,准备做中国的奴隶吧!作者是 Niall Ferguson。

We think Chinese money is the answer to our problems, but the reason the country is prospering is hard work and it will expect it from us too中国人的钱是解决我们的问题的答案,可是,中国发展如此迅速,是中国人的勤奋。

Niall Ferguson

“In many ways the biggest questions of the 21st century are about China. What would it be like to live in a Chinese-dominated world? Or could the red dragon crash and burn in a recurrence of the chaos that has devastated it in the past? Over the next few years these issues will become central to all our lives.

When young Chinese nationalists hack into our computers, do we any longer have the power to stand up to them? If China can impose low wages and harsh working conditions in emerging markets, how long before they start doing the same to us? Where once we had the bright ideas and the Chinese assembled the components, could it soon be the other way round? When China challenges our most deeply held beliefs about freedom of speech by locking up outspoken citizens, will we have to bite our tongues for fear of losing much-needed investment?

What should we be more worried about: a China that takes over the world or a China that fails and takes the rest of the world down with it?
